Bridge and Burn Spring 2011
2.15.2011
I can't write highly enough of Erik Prowell's designs for Bridge and Burn, a Portland label that makes classic and utilitarian jackets for men and women. I'm a big fan of the Castle jacket I purchased over a year ago and it has become a fair weather staple for me. I'm a little disappointed that the clothing isn't made in the USA, but hopefully, with gentle prodding, the company would be able to move things Stateside. In the meantime, I'm really loving the clean cuts of the shirts and jackets (Chambray! Waxed Cotton! Blonde Jason Schwartzman lookalike!) for Spring 2011 and it seems perfectly suited for the Pacific Northwest.

About
This blog is filled with confessions and tribulations; it's where I document musings on life as a working mother to a feisty 16-month old with food allergies and a rascally 12-year old dachshund. It's where I'm simultaneously allowed to be vulnerable and pretentious, frivolous and conscientious. I'm constantly outraged and continuously pessimistic.

These pieces are really nice. They really are perfectly suited for the Northwest.
ReplyDeleteJennifer: Have I ever thanked you for consistently commenting even on my most mundane and useless posts? =)
ReplyDeleteEvery city should have a shop selling well-made timeless classics like this one; sometimes I', sick of all the trend-led chain boutiques around me.
ReplyDeletelin, I think the reason why there's a lack of independent designers in our countries is because there's a lack of demand. It's really sad.
ReplyDeleteNice looks!
