Happy Holidays!
12.22.2011
My work has risen to mountainous new heights and I shall be spending Christmas weekend pounding away at the keyboard trying to get stuff for my paper out (it's about bloody time to graduate, goddammit!). But I just wanted to wish everyone a good holiday season and thank you for being such good readers over the last year, particularly putting up with my bellyaching over the state of affairs and my rambling, tortuous posts. I hope your Christmas is filled with lots of love, ham, chocolates and all things nice.

About
This blog is filled with confessions and tribulations; it's where I document musings on life as a working mother to a feisty 16-month old with food allergies and a rascally 12-year old dachshund. It's where I'm simultaneously allowed to be vulnerable and pretentious, frivolous and conscientious. I'm constantly outraged and continuously pessimistic.

Merry Christmas! Sadly, I'll also be spending the holidays churning out conference proposals, dissertation chapter, and a lecture. Boo! I'll be thinking of you!
ReplyDelete@jenniferMerry Christmas, Jennifer! I hope you'll at least get some time off to have a couple of drinks and have a good dinner. Here's to us finishing our graduate studies =)
ReplyDeletemerry xmas amanda and jennifer! :) i'm having delayed festivities here when my bf visits in 5 days...hope you both have a warm and not too work-filled holiday weekend!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christma to you too, Miss Sophie! I hope you'll be having Shanghainese dumplings instead of turkey/ham.
ReplyDelete@Amanda hehe, there will be a lot of Ding Tai fung dumpling goodness for the boyfriend's first proper dinner in SH! :)
ReplyDeletei think you've commented on this before, but would you mind offering your review of the PS1 that you have? does it still irk you quality-wise for the same reasons? feel free to email me at mlle dot sophiex at gmail if you don't feel like writing a lengthy comment reply. thanks!
@miss sophie No, no I think it would be good for me to reply here just in case any one else is wondering.
ReplyDeleteMy problem with the PS1 is that the leather is really slouchy and thin and I find that I can't really hold too much in the bag without it looking cheap-ish because it sags in the middle. The biggest thing that irks me though, is that since I have the black PS1, the buckles and hooks are enameled, and they started peeling off after 3 months of use. According to the Proenza Schouler CS, it's part of the "charm". Ack! For the price, it's absolutely not worth it, in my opinion. If you want to get one, get the navy or khaki/green, but it's still pretty steep for $1600. Hope that helps! =)
@Amanda ah, thanks for the honest thoughts and i hear you on the flaking hardware :P i probably won't get it anytime soon if i do at all; the idea of the bag and the design tempts me once in a while...
